Energy efficient glass garage doors can be difficult to find for architects and designers. As building codes become stricter with regard to thermal values, many options in the glass garage door industry are getting squeezed out due to their inadequate performance.

INSULATED GLAZING consists of (2) panes of glass separated by a spacer. The void between the two panes can be filled with standard air or gas to achieve specific thermal values. Arm-R-Lite can accommodate insulated glass units with overall thicknesses of 7/16”, 5/8” or 1”. Low E coatings, UV blockers, tints, and other custom glass options are available in Arm-R-Lite’s insulated units.
An INSULATED FRAME for a glass garage door is not available from most manufacturers. As part of their Energy Efficiency Package an Arm-R-Lite welded aluminum frame is filled with polyurethane expanding foam insulation. The meeting aluminum members are also sealed from the inside resulting in a water resistant feature as well.
